Lionel Messi is only 23 years old but what he has achieved is such a short time many others do not get in their whole career. He plays as a striker for Argentina. He also plays for football club Barcelona. He has already won FIFA world player of the year award and Ballon d’Or.
Even soccer legend Diego Maradona has named him as his successor. Many players believe that player like him is born once in 50 years. In season 2008-09 he played a key role in Barcelona winning the treble and also scoring 38 goals. In season 2009-10 he scored 47 goals for the Catalan side. He equaled the record of Ronaldo by this effort.
He has performed a key role for his national team Argentina. He helped them win the gold medal at the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
